Together with Siemens, Scandic had already achieved an optimum standard of fire detection and evacuation and integrated it in 20 hotels, flexibly accommodating the distinctive features of each building. The company required a modern and flexible system which can reliably distinguish fires from disturbances such as cigarette smoke or steam to prevent false alarms and unnecessary evacuations.

Siemens supplied the Sinteso F20, a fire detection system flexibly adapted to the structural features of the building. In public areas such as the hotel lobby, the restaurant and the conference rooms, public address announcements ensure safe evacuation. The colors of the fire detectors and loudspeakers match their surroundings and blend perfectly into the hotel’s design language.

The Sinteso system meets every one of Scandic’s requirements: Guests and employees in the building are safe, property and processes optimally protected. The Sinteso solution is also cost-effective because the fire detectors and alarm devices are installed in the same closed loop control system.
