The new touch room operator unit QMX7

Tuesday, February 04, 2014

In the first quarter of 2014, the Siemens Building Technologies Division will release a market package for Desigo V5.1 which will contain important upgrades for the entire Desigo building automation and control system. The highlight of the market package is Desigo Total Room Automation`s (TRA’s) IP-compliant room operator unit QMX7, which features intuitive touch screen control and a capacitive color display.
The sleek, state-of-the-art unit only extends 15mm from the wall and can be installed vertically or horizontally on all standard recessed conduit boxes. The QMX7 features a 4.3-inch IPS display with anti-reflective glass screen and ergonomic touch panel operation. Using the engineering tool, the scope of functions and colors of the display can be adjusted without additional tools to meet customer needs.
(Thanks to direct Ethernet/IP cabling (RJ45), the touch room operator unit QMX7 can be installed without a separate power line (Power over Ethernet, PoE); it communicates directly with the associated room automation station PXC3 via TCP/IP. Because several touch room operator units QMX7 can be connected via IP to the same room automation station, costs and cabling can be minimized.)
The touch room operator unit QMX7 supports all the Desigo TRA functions such as HVAC, lighting and shading applications as well as setting scenes to control a room. The Green Leaf symbol allows room occupants to be part of the energy saving process.
