Building Efficiency conference award

The jury of Building Efficiency conference was impressed with the unique RoomOptiControl feature of the room operator unit QMX3 from the BACnet/IP room automation range Desigo Total Room Automation from Siemens. The award for the best automation product was presented in Cologne on October 24, 2012.

The Building Efficiency conference is a joint project of MarDirect Marketing Direct GbR and TEMA Technology Marketing AG. The annual event has already taken place for the fifth time. Participants are invited to take part in presentations on the topic of building efficiency and exciting discussions.

The organizers placed a focus on the topic of sustainable building planning. Among other things, the conference dealt with the issue as to how building automation can achieve the highest level of room automation with modular room concepts. The one-day event in Cologne also included an award for the best automation product. And the winner was the room operator unit QMX3 with its impressive RoomOptiControl function.

The room operator unit is part of the BACnet/IP based building automation system Desigo Total Room Automation from Siemens (B-ASC Profile, BACnet Revision 1.10). The RoomOptiControl function automatically detects unnecessary energy consumption in the room and indicates this by way of a Green Leaf symbol on the unit. The Green Leaf symbol turns red if energy consumption is outside the energy optimized range. Simply touching the symbol causes room control to return to energy optimized operation and the Green Leaf symbol becomes green again.
