Buffaloe Grove, IL, Friday, September 23, 2011

Siemens Industry, Inc. Building Technologies (BT) Division today announced that it will host a two-day retail customer conference in Austin, Texas, September 29-30, 2011. The event provides Siemens retail customers an opportunity to obtain the knowledge and tools required to optimize their investments in the Siemens Site Controls™ Energy Management platform and collaborate on the vision for the Retail Store of the Future.

During the conference, Siemens will present case studies, along with real world examples about energy saving initiatives from retailers that have implemented energy management solutions, extensions and demand-response programs.  Customers will speak about their experiences with the Site Controls platform; discussing methods for sustaining and increasing energy and maintenance savings over time and looking at industry trends and best practices.  Sessions will also cover the future of advanced lighting solutions, the Electric Vehicle charging roadmap, solar solutions and pricing trends, low voltage innovations as well as key demand response drivers.

The keynote speaker at the event will be Andrew Winston, environmental strategist and author of “Green to Gold” and “Green Recovery.”  Mr. Winston will explore the environmental pressures and powerful stakeholders driving companies to go green.  Returning speaker, Steve Kiesner, Director of National Accounts at the Edison Electric Institute, will provide an update on the current economic environment and how it will impact Smart Grid investments in the US.

“Energy management is the key to a profitable future for many large retailers and chain operators, and this event offers an open forum for retailers to hear success stories, best practices and network with their peers and key Siemens staff,” said Marcus Boerkei, Sr. Director and General Manager of Siemens Retail and Commercial Systems segment.  “We have developed a long track record of successful customer partnerships, and this event allows us a great opportunity to broadly share the innovations that have driven that success.  We are also looking forward to sharing our vision for the Retail Store of the Future”
