HVAC Ring the Cowbell! Siemens Building Technologies Celebrates Another Million Sales of Openair™ Damper Actuators in North America

Developing products that meet the needs of customers worldwide is no easy feat, but a recent milestone, the sale of another million OpenAir ™ Damper Actuators in North America by Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., shines a light on how successful the strategy can be. Started in 1997, The OpenAir damper actuator was the first globally developed project for Siemens Building Technologies jointly planned and executed with teams representing both Swiss and U.S. employees.

“Our GAP (Global Actuator Products) team continues to achieve double-digit growth selling the actuator in North America,” says Wendy Perna, OpenAir Product Manager for Siemens in the U.S. “This million sales milestone clearly points to how cooperating global teams, working together to develop an advanced HVAC actuator product line for universal applications, can not only successfully meet the needs of the U.S. and North American market, but meet the needs of the global market as well.”

Siemens GAP teams first celebrated the achievement at the company’s global headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. “World-class products come from world-class people,” says Volker Eckstein, head of the damper actuator product line for Siemens in Zug. “But it is our customers who truly benefit because they can count on Siemens to deliver standard, high quality products and solutions no matter where in the world they use our technology.” Bringing the celebration to this side of the Atlantic, Eckstein recently visited Siemens Building Technologies U.S. headquarters in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, where he presented the North American team with a traditional Swiss cow bell to commemorate the special event.
