Buildings Magazine Chooses Siemens Adaptive Control as an Editor’s Choice—Top Product

BUFFALO GROVE, IL, Monday, December 11, 2006

Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. announced today that the APOGEE® Building Automation System’s Adaptive Control has been named by Buildings magazine as one of its “Editor’s Choice – Top Product Picks for 2006.”

According to Buildings magazine thousands of products were reviewed by its editorial staff and facilities professionals to select an elite group of 100 winners based on factors such as ease-of-use, durability/life-cycle cost, efficiency, applicability, universal appeal, and other relevant elements of the product’s design and functionality.

Adaptive Control improves facility performance by automatically adjusting to fluctuations in mechanical systems, loads and seasonal changes in variable environments—all while minimizing error, oscillations, and actuator repositioning. Adaptive Control is built on Model-Free Adaptive® (MFA) control software, a leading-edge and well-established industrial control algorithm from CyboSoft® that is exclusive to APOGEE building automation. Its ability to solve difficult control problems is well known, and engineers in the industrial and equipment control markets continue to rely on it to achieve improved quality, flexible production, environmental control, and cost savings.

“We are delighted APOGEE’s Adaptive Control is being recognized by the Buildings editorial staff as a top product,” said Kevin Osburn, vice president, Building Automation, Siemens Building Technologies.  “We remain committed to developing innovative solutions that provide value, efficiencies and enhanced performance, and in this case, Adaptive Control is a home-run on all counts.”
