The Psychology of Plugging In

As with any conference that is labeled, “Plug In”, you know you are headed to a place where the level of technological discussion is going to be high. So, I was not surprised by a second day of hearing in-depth conversation about PEVs, PHEVs, BEVs, and many other types of electric-friendly vehicles as well as much discussion around Level 1 charging versus Level 2 and Level 3. Or, from the utility’s side, you must consider new meters versus sub-meters versus smart meters; and let’s not even start with the acronyms, like TOU rates (time of use), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), ISO (International Organization for Standardization), and so on and so on...
