The city of Big Spring is going green — or at least greener than previous years — according to the recent one-year report card from Siemens Building Technologies, the company in charge of the municipality’s conservation efforts.
The conservation program allows cities and other governments to change out existing aging and inefficient utility systems — including water, electrical and climate control components and systems — with a guarantee of the savings, which the company agrees to supplement if the changes fall short.
