County inks Siemens pact

DeSoto County officials entered into a contract agreement with Siemens Building Technologies Inc., which could net the county $9 million in energy savings during a 15-year period.
Siemens officials said DeSoto County's energy reduction percentage could be the greatest of any energy reduction contract statewide.
It's projected DeSoto County could save upward of $373,943 dollars a year in energy costs and drop its utility bills by more than 36 percent with a new overall energy plan, according to Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. Energy and Environmental Solutions performance contracting consultant Chris McNeil.
