Video analytics provide intelligent video surveillance

As human observers find it very difficult to monitor the increasing number of video channels typical for today’s surveillance systems, video analytics have quickly become a key element in today’s security applications. Integration of surveillance cameras on to a security management station (e.g. Siveillance Fusion) is key to providing a holistic security solution.

Innovative digital product and system concepts centered on intelligent video analytics and sensor input allow the best possible coordination of system functionality with operator requirements. This becomes increasingly important for extensive and complex sites with varying security needs.

Comprehensive video surveillance solutions from Siemens that incorporate extensive video analytics, such as IVM and Siveillance™ SiteIQ Wide Area offer a unique approach to streamlining security management for critical infrastructure, wide-area sites, public areas, buildings, and public safety agencies.

Interactive Video Management software – IVM

The Interactive Video Management software (IVM) combines all input from surveillance cameras, control and configuration systems on a common platform. It is possible for the user to carry out the entire video management using IVM, from the generation of site plans or system configuration, to display, selection, and control of individual surveillance cameras or external systems. Via system interfaces, it is possible to generate event-controlled reports and alarms or to display, evaluate or document process information from specified systems.

Highlight

  • Efficient video surveillance by use of event control

  • Modular system – universal implementation

  • Client/server architecture – single and multi-site system

  • High degree of flexibility for multi-site systems thanks to user-specific operating rights and alarm management

  • Cascading and control of a wide variety of data transfer media – migration between analog and digital components

  • Process optimization thanks to time-controlled command processing

  • Unified, user-friendly, multi-lingual graphical user interface

  • Log file of events and images

  • Operation and display of external systems
