The luxurious Kempinski Palace Portorož is Slovenia’s first 5-star hotel. The hotel offers 180 rooms as well as various luxury suites. The historic part of the hotel has been renovated several times and the newly constructed portion was taken into service at the reopening in 2008. The Istrabenz Group financed the renovation work.

Requirements

In terms of building management, the investor wanted an integrated hotel solution combining costs savings through efficient use of energy, the highest possible level of security and maximum comfort for guests and service personnel.

Solution

Siemens delivered an integrated hotel solution featuring room automation and energy management, room access control, guest room management, and staff and service management. The intelligent room automation system maintains an optimal room climate with a high level of user friendliness and comfort. The flexible building management system consisting of Desigo PX and Desigo Insight integrates the hotel’s two heating systems, fan-coil units, power supply and hotel systems such as HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning), EIB lighting, refrigerating units, swimming pools, elevators, and metering of consumption.
