Örenäs Slott, Glumslöv, Sweden
Energy-efficient operation thanks to Desigo and Symaro
Örenäs Slott is a Swedish hotel and conference center in a historic castle dating back to 1918. The four-star hotel in Glumslöv in southern Sweden overlooks the sea and has 91 rooms, a sauna, an outdoor swimming pool, a miniature golf course, and a boules court.
After Siemens had already supported the hotel operators with many smaller projects to their great satisfaction, they now wanted to modernize the building technology as a whole, with a special focus on greater energy efficiency.
Siemens installed equipment including a Desigo Insight management station, with which technical building systems can be operated easily, intuitively, and on an error-free basis using an easy-to-understand graphical user interface. HVAC sensors from Symaro™ detect and transmit values especially quickly and accurately. This provides the optimal basis for precise and thus energy- and cost-effective control of the entire heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
The new building technology reduces the operating costs of the hotel by approximately 600,000 Swedish kronor (68,000 euros) per year. Previously the oil boiler and electric boiler were replaced by district heating, which significantly improved the indoor climate and also freed up space. The comfort and safety for guests rose as a result of continuous performance tests.
