Savings potential thanks to energy efficiency
Integrated in the new market package 2.1 of the E100 system are energy-efficient yet powerful components that offer cost savings of up to 30 percent. Due to the use of efficient class D amplifiers and high-capacity power supply, the number of subassemblies and central stations per plant are reduced. Also, external emergency power supply is no longer needed.
The E100 system can be fully matched to the building’s technical and safety-related requirements. The decentralized architecture of E100 ensures a high level of system availability and lowers investment and operating costs. The modular design of the system and its networking capability enable the E100 to be straightforwardly integrated into a fire detection system, or an existing plant can be easily extended. The E100 can be scaled from a standalone to an extensive system including up to 32 central stations each with a maximum of 24 amplifiers, 10 desktop telephone stations, a large number of loudspeakers and optional accessories.
Future-oriented conformance to the standards
E100 already conforms to the demanding European standards EN 54-4 and EN 54-16. The first standard covers the requirements placed on the power supply for a fire detection system and will take effect in 2009, also including voice alarm systems. In addition, as of 2011, all voice alarm systems installed in Europe must satisfy the requirements of EN 54-16. This new standard stipulates the requirements, test procedures and performance characteristics for central voice alarm stations in connection with fire detection systems. As the E100 already conforms to these standards, the system offers not only a high level of safety but also long-term protection of investments.
The E100 voice alarm system from Siemens operates reliably in a host of well-known premises. Among the building complexes where the E100 system ensures evacuation in an emergency are the Canary Wharf in London, the Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart / Untertürkheim, the Hong Kong Disney Land, the NH Hotels in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and Woerden, the TAT Towers in Istanbul, and the teaching hospital in Düsseldorf.
