Today, planning engineers, installers and building owners must also give consideration to the buildings’ energy efficiency. Here, the User’s Guide published by Siemens Building Technologies is of great assistance: It’s called “Building automation – impact on energy efficiency“ and informs on more than one hundred pages about all kinds of interrelationships based on the European standard EN 15232 and on eu.bac product certification. In addition, the User’s Guide offers assistance for practical work.
The Building Technologies (BT) Division of Siemens published the User’s Guide to assist the parties involved in building planning work in giving consideration to relevant energy efficiency aspects and to apply them correctly – in particular in the field of building automation and control. The objective of the User’s Guide “Building automation – impact on energy efficiency“ is to give planning engineers, installers and building owners a basic idea of the methodology of energy-efficient building automation and control functions and to show how these functions can be used in practice. Energy-efficient building automation and control functions save building operating costs, conserve energy resources and lower CO2 emissions.
The combination of theoretical fundamentals and practical proposals for implementation shall contribute to make certain that sophisticated building automation and control functions will deliver a high level of energy efficiency not only in the case of new buildings but also in connection with retrofit and renovation projects. The comprehensive concept of the User’s Guide is based on the European standard EN 15232 on ”Energy Efficiency in Buildings – Influence of Building Automation and Control and Building Management“ on the one hand and on eu.bac product certification (European Building Automation Controls Association) on the other.
First, the User’s Guide conveys basic knowledge of energy efficiency and informs about the current global challenges resulting from energy usage and the world climate. The main section covers in detail the EN 15232 standard and contains a host of application examples for different types of buildings. Also, the User’s Guide specifies the building automation and control systems available from Siemens Building Technologies that meet the requirements of EN 15232, plus the energy efficiency services BT offers. One chapter covering the purpose of and the customer benefits resulting from eu.bac certification as well as references to secondary information round off the subject.
With the new User’s Guide, Siemens Building Technologies underlines its vast experience and in-depth technical knowledge in the field of energy efficiency of buildings and gives planning engineers and installers a valuable, practice-oriented tool, enabling them to comply with EN 15232.
