How can you protect laboratory fume hoods from fire and consequential damage such as business interruptions? With our Object Extinguishing Technology (OET). OET has been designed to meet the high risk of fire present in laboratory fume hoods caused by burners, evaporators and flammable or explosive substances. Via a tube-like, linear fire sensor installed in the laboratory fume hood, OET detects an open fire within seconds and extinguishes it right away by distributing an extinguishing agent.

The linear fire sensor is permanently pressurized to 16 bar and connected to the extinguishing cylinder via a valve. As soon as the ambient temperature rises above 110°C, the sensor bursts and thus pneumatically triggers the extinguishing process – the valve is opened and the extinguishing agent is introduced via a separate extinguishing line and nozzles inside the laboratory fume hood. To ensure efficient extinguishing, the sash of the laboratory fume hood must be shut and the ventilation turned off. Important system information like extinguishing agent loss, extinguishing blockage or extinguishing triggering is transmitted to the main panel.
