Dust Monitoring Technology – dust detection for protection against fine dust pollution

This technology combines the highly efficient aspirating smoke detection technology from Siemens for dust and fine dust monitoring in sensitive environments. Via a pipe network, the aspirating smoke detectors actively draw air samples from the areas requiring protection. In their patented measuring chamber, the detectors check these samples for dust and smoke particles using an optical detection technology with two wavelengths ‒ blue and infrared. With this optical dual-wavelength detection technology, the aspirating smoke detectors can reliably differentiate between smoke and dust particles. Dust particles (typ. 1 – 100 um) can be measured in concentrations of 0 – 150 µg/m³. As soon as the defined value for the fine dust concentration is exceeded, different measures can be initiated like triggering an alarm or air control.
