The Building Technologies Division from Siemens continued its profitable growth in the past fiscal year. Profit once again showed an improvement.
New orders of 6.333 billion euros received in the 2008 fiscal year were unchanged compared with the previous year (6.351 billion euros). Total revenue declined slightly from 6.038 billion euros to 5.984 billion euros. Divisional profit rose by a pleasing 8.6% from 429 to 466 million euros, the profit margin from 7.1% to an impressive 7.8%. These results, especially the volume of business, reflect the very heavy impact of currency translation effects. In real terms, therefore, new orders received were 3.4% higher and total revenue was 2.9% higher.
The improvement in the business mix and the excellent trend of business in the 4th quarter were responsible for these good figures.
