Positioning and call system provides real benefits

A positioning and call system at a Zurich senior citizen center benefits residents and staff alike

The positioning and call system installed at the SIKNA senior citizens' center featuring advanced RFID technology provides residents with maximum freedom of movement and safety. At the same time, staff can work more efficiently, giving them more time to provide care to residents.

Using the positioning and call system installed in the SIKNA senior citizens' center, residents can call for aid from any point in the building by pressing a button on the personal badge around their wrist. The staff can then pinpoint where the residents are at all times. The calls are displayed both on a touchscreen in the hallway and on the PCs in the caregiver station rooms.  A scanner at the main entryway also detects any "dementia patient" badge profile, thereby locking the automatic door. All events and calls are stored in a database and can be evaluated.

The benefits of the modern positioning and call systems are winning over more and more elderly care organizations and homes: Residents and staff can move freely within the senior citizens' center while their exact location is known at all times. Dementia patients are prevented from leaving the building unaccompanied, which allows caregivers to save valuable time when providing help in a serious incident. Thanks to the positioning and call system, families of residents have the peace of mind that their loved ones are in safe hands.
