Hotel safety

Safety and security in hotels should be given even greater emphasis

It is often the case that only the amount statutorily required for basic passive security systems is actually invested in safety and security at hotels. This is the wrong approach.

Especially in case of a fire, safety of human lives should be given the highest priority. A reliable fire safety system as an additional safety measure at hotels increases the level of safety and security for people and assets. A fire safety system featuring enhanced immunity to deception of fire detectors also minimizes the incidence of false alarms.

False alarms not only cost money, they are also often detrimental to a hotel's reputation. To reduce the likelihood of false alarms, the detectors should be suitable for the environment where they are used. For example, different detectors should be used in the kitchen area than in the guest rooms or lobby.

To increase hotel safety, a modern fire safety system should offer predefined scenarios for an evacuation in the event of a real fire. Hotels can only provide optimal protection against fire to their guests and staff by using a fire safety system geared to match the special requirements for hotel safety.

Siemens integrated its safety and security concept within the building management system at Atlantis, The Palm, in Dubai in order to be able to monitor, control, and manage many different system elements in an emergency.
